Where has Feburary gone?

I can't believe Feburary is almost over (I have to say that I am quite thankful for that fact though). Next week I finish up my 3rd physical therapy internship and will be so so so greatful to be done at that clinic....it was truly awful! Although I tried to stay positive most days and make it a "what I will never do with patients" learning experience. Working in an outpatient clinic makes me miss inpatient (though I never thought I would say that). The hours for inpatient are wonderful and the work is not too stressful... so I may be looking to find a job with that population. My next internship will be in Saratoga Springs at the IHC clinic, hopefully that goes a little better. I am trying to get myself motivated to study for my board exam which I am planning to take after graduation in May.

We had a nice Valentines day(well weekend). Since Jeff and I both were busy on Valentines day, we chose to celebrate on Saturday with snowboarding, a movie, and dinner at Olive Garden. It turned out to be a very fun time and I am so thankful for all Jeff does for me! He is a great husband and I can't wait to share many more years together.

Jeff is still working hard at school and the cabinet shop. He is really looking forward to graduation in May. He is doing well in his classes this semester and learning lots of new things at work. Last week he was able to work on a window that went in the St. Louis temple.

A new year with lots of new adventures

Last week I started my 3rd internship at an outpatient clinic in Lehi. Let me just say it is going to be a LONG 8 weeks!!! March 4th couldn't come quick enough! I am really struggling to just drag myself there everyday. The clinic itself is nice, the frustration I am having is due to their approach to treating patients and I don't really get along to well with my CI (which is not like me at all). Also the hours seemed ok at first but I found out that I have a 2 hour lunch break (seriously who does that?) so the day feels even longer and I have to work on Saturdays at 6:30 (so long for my snowboarding Saturdays). Anyway, I am trying to stay positive and get something good out of it.

Also I have began looking for jobs in Utah for after I graduate. It is so much work to look, especially since I am trying to find some place who offers what I need. Hopefully I can find openings soon.

Jeff is still busy working at Salt Lake Cabinets and just started his final semester of school!! YAY! He has 2 classes this semester and then graduation!

Also our ward split last week so now our church starts at 1:00, which is sooo late, but at least it will give us a chance to sleep in a little bit. The bishop called us today for a meeting/calling tommorow....probably primary or nursery again.

This year for Christmas Eve we went to the Bath's for dinner and fun. Christmas morning we went to the Evans and found this:

For Christmas Brunch we had the traditional quiche, sweet rolls, pastries, hot chocolate, and all sorts of goodies.

This is the jewerly box Jeff made me for Christmas...I love it!!! It is so nice to be able to see all of my jewerly!

After Christmas, we went with my family to California. On the drive there, we stayed in Las Vegas where we went to the Pawn Stars store, but the TV stars weren't there. On the way to California, we stopped in Barstow at an Alien Jerky Store and found some interesting things.

Merry Christmas 2010

Merry Christmas!!!

Since we haven't had too much snow lately, Jeff and I decided to go to temple square to see the lights and get in the Christmas spirit.

A few weeks ago, this is what it looked like outside of our balcony....the fog was so thick we couldn't see the building across from us!

I thought I would put a picture of the snowboard bench Jeff made when we first got married. Even though it isn't too comfortable to sit on, it is neat to have.

Also, I finally finished my second internship!!! YAY! I can't believe that I am halfway done with my year of free labor! The SNF wasn't as bad as I thought...it was actually pleasant and not too hard, plus the hours were great! Now, I have a month break to relax, catch up on school work, and then back to the grind with 2 more interns, then graduation in May.

Jeff will be finishing his classes tonight! I am proud of him for working hard all day and then going to school late at night! Hopefully next semester won't be too bad...he will be taking 2 classes and then graduation for him in May!

Hopefully we can go somewhere fun to celebrate all of our hard work over the past few years. We are still deciding what the next step in life should be...do we stay in an apartment and save some money or get a house once we graduate? Decisions, Decisions.....

Happy Thanksgiving and Black Friday Madness

Happy Thanksgiving!!!

Jeff and I have had a busy, but fun-filled year with lots to be thanksful for. Here are some things we have been especially thankful for recently:

-Living back in Utah so that we can spend time with our families

-Being healthy despite a few colds and flu here and there

-Both of us getting multiple scholarships for school and for almost being done with it

-Having work and enjoying it

-A warm apartment to live in

-An eternal marriage

-Living close to the temple

-Our cute little kittens who are such troublemakers but we still love them

BLACK FRIDAY MADNESS:

This year we really wanted to get a new laptop so that we could use it for all of our music. Walmart had a great deal ($198) on one and so we decided to brave the crowds of the black friday mess and wait for it. Our adventure began Thanksgiving night at 7 pm where we waited in the frozen food isle for 10 hours to get the laptop. Lets just say it was a long cold night, and the first night in my life that I stayed up, but we were able to get everything we wanted and saved over $600! I know we may be crazy, but both Jeff and I love the rush of saving a lot of money.

The holidays are here!

I am halfway done with my second internship and surprisingly enjoying being at a skilled nursing center. There are many days I come home with interesting stories....getting pooped on, dealing with schizophreics, grumpy old people, and lots of paperwork. I especially love the short work days...8-3 or 4 pm is wonderful!

Jeff is still working hard at passing his classes and working at the cabinet shop. His boss has asked him to transfer to the main shop, Fetzers, for the next month or so to help out. He is not too happy because that shop is by Usana and that means he has to wake up at 4:45 am. I am greatful that at least he has work during the winter and am happy that he gets to do something he enjoys!

I know its early, but I am tired of looking at fall decorations, so we decided to put our Christmas stuff up. I love Christmas and am happy to be home this year.

In other news, my Grandma Pearson, began her Chemotherapy for the breast cancer that she was recently diagnosed with. She is such an amazing grandma and has taught me so many things in my life, especially about having a good attitude when life gets difficult. Good luck Grandma in the tough months to come!!! Jeff's dad also underwent bilateral TKA's last week and is doing great and planning on returning home soon. Best of luck to him as well.

Halloween and Senses Fail Concert

Happy Halloween!!! This year we planned on dressing up as dawg the bounty hunter and his wife Beth, but we opted to go see Senses Fail play at In the Venue on Halloween night. I did have to dress up for work on Friday and so I wore my pirate costume from last year. As you can see Jeff's redneck costume is lovely....words just can not explain this....


Lately, all we have felt like doing is this (see below) because we have been super busy! We also had our first snowfall this past week and I don't feel ready for winter yet, especially without my Jeep.We were lucky enough to find a great deal on KSL for some snow tires for the car, which I am happy about because I dread driving in the snow.
Jeff is so funny when he sleeps. This is what he looks like every night, but usually its just his nose sticking out from ALL of the pillows. HE HE HE

We also attempted our first caramel apples this year. We first melted caramel and then dipped them in fudge and rolled it in crushed snickers. YUM! They worked well until the fudge slipped off!

We also carved our pumpkins on Friday night. My favorite part about Halloween is eating pumpkin seeds! The pics are blurry but it gives you an idea.

The Senses Fail/Bayside Concert was awesome! Senses always put on such an energetic show. I was even able to be in the second row of the mosh pit and survived!! Although my body feels like I took a pretty good beating today. I was lucky enough to get behind a girl that was less than 5 ft tall so I could actually see and breathe and the secret to not loosing my spot was keeping my hand on the front hand rail during the whole show. I also enjoyed elbowing the guys next to me during the entire show cause they were trying to push me. They played a ton of our favorite songs. Before the show they were having a meet and greet at Graywhale in SLC so we stopped by and got their signatures on their cd covers. It was a great night, but sad cause concert season is over :(
