Jeff's Graduation and the Tulip Festival

On May 5th we were able to celebrate Jeff's graduation from Salt Lake Community College with his AAS in Construction Management. He even got to wear honor cords for his good grades. I am so proud and excited for him getting his degree....its been a long road between starting at Snow College in 2004, leaving for a mission for 2 years, attending SLCC for a year and getting married, moving to Flagstaff for 2 years, and moving back to finish up his last year! He is still debating if he is going to continue for his BS.

Jeff and I both had the day after his graduation off so we decided to take a drive up to Park City

For mother's day my mom, shan, and both grandma's went to Thanksgiving Point for lunch and to see the flowers at the Tulip Festival. It was nice to have a girls afternoon.

2011 AMA Supercross

To celebrate the end of my schooling/internships, Jeff (with his crazy luck) was able to get free tickets to this year's AMA supercross at Rice Eccles Stadium at the U. Jeff got the tickets (which were worth $50 each) from X-96 the Radio station. I was really excited because growing up I always wanted to go and knew everything about the riders, but never had anyone to go with. Despite the freezing (literally 30degrees) temperatures, it was worth every freezing minute.

Happy Easter and still snowing

Since moving back to Utah, I have wanted a bike. The last bike I owned was pink and purple and has long been donated to the neighbor kids across the street from my parents. I was really excited when Jeff found this K2 mountain bike on KSL for a steal...only $40! Unfortunatly, we pulled Jeff's bike out of the basement and discovered that it was in pretty poor shape and will cost at least $100 to fix up....hopefully we can find another bike for him soon so we can go on rides.

I love dying easter eggs and this year we found a cool neon colors kit. This year for Easter we had brunch at the Baths on Saturday and egg hunts for the little kids. Sunday we had a nice dinner at my uphill grandma and grandpa's house and got lots of fun things in our baskets.

I also decided to attempt to make a cute easter treat (with the help of Shannon). These rice krispie nests were really easy and yummy. I put the rice krispies in muffin tins and then filled them with green cocconut and jelly beans.

Apparently Utah still thinks it is winter outside. We have had snow and lots of rain almost every other day. I can't wait for the nice weather....if it ever comes! The pic below is outside of our apartment Easter weekend. At least we have been able to do lots of snowboarding with all the snow that we have been getting.

Also....I AM FINISHED WITH SCHOOL and will finally be getting my Doctorate in Physical Therapy!!!! It hasn't quite sunk in yet, and probably won't until my board exam is over (May 23rd). Next week is Jeff's graduation and I am so proud of him for working so hard to get his degree! Then we are off to Flagstaff for my graduation! I can't wait to finally get a real paycheck...until I have to start paying back my loans :(

A bad experience and a lot of laughs

Friday night Jeff and I were able to attend a comedy night with the Blue Collar Comedy guys at the Energy Solutions Center. We were lucky enough to get a great deal on tickets last minute and had a great night filled with tons of laughs (our faces hurt afterwards!).

Last Thursday on my way to my internship I had a run in with an antelope on the hood of the car. I had just pulled out of our apartment complex and before I knew what happened I hit the poor thing. It did quite a number on the car and and a pretty pricey amount of damage to the bumper, hood, grills, and the entire passenger side of the car. After it happened the windshield was filled with hair...it was so nasty I had to call my dad to come hose it off of the car plus I was shaking like crazy. If you know me, hitting an animal is one of my worst fears in life and I am always cautious and aware of them. At least the car is still in working condition, I am safe, and no blood got on me or the car. Here are some pics of the damage:

Now for some positive news....

I GOT A JOB!!!

I am super excited that I landed a job for after graduation and once I pass my national exam. I will be working at St. Josephs Villa, a skilled nursing facility that I had an internship at. The company is different because it got bought out, but I am still thrilled and much less stressed about the future. The hours are great, especially for PT, the pay is great as well, but the only negative is that it is on 2100 s in SLC. I hope that this job will give me motivation to study for my boards....which I have been avoiding at all costs!

Also, I am halfway through my final internship of PT school! I am in Saratoga Springs at an IHC OP clinic. It is much better than my old one, but very slow especially for a 10 hour work day. I just can't wait to get through another 4 weeks and be done! Graduation is also coming up for both Jeff and I and we are so excited!

Happy Birthday Jeff

Last week we celebrated Jeff's 25th birthday (aka birthday week in my family). His birthday wasn't until Friday, but we began celebrating earlier that week with a trip to Leatherby's for Jeff's favorite ice cream, an Almond Joy sunday. The following day Jeff's parents took him out to lunch and later that night I took Jeff to Rodizio so that he could finally enjoy a night full of meat! We celebrated again on Saturday night with the Evans side at our apartment. Jeff chose to have his favorite 7 lb. chocolate cake from Costco. He even got to choose the party theme of monster trucks!

Where has Feburary gone?

I can't believe Feburary is almost over (I have to say that I am quite thankful for that fact though). Next week I finish up my 3rd physical therapy internship and will be so so so greatful to be done at that clinic....it was truly awful! Although I tried to stay positive most days and make it a "what I will never do with patients" learning experience. Working in an outpatient clinic makes me miss inpatient (though I never thought I would say that). The hours for inpatient are wonderful and the work is not too stressful... so I may be looking to find a job with that population. My next internship will be in Saratoga Springs at the IHC clinic, hopefully that goes a little better. I am trying to get myself motivated to study for my board exam which I am planning to take after graduation in May.

We had a nice Valentines day(well weekend). Since Jeff and I both were busy on Valentines day, we chose to celebrate on Saturday with snowboarding, a movie, and dinner at Olive Garden. It turned out to be a very fun time and I am so thankful for all Jeff does for me! He is a great husband and I can't wait to share many more years together.

Jeff is still working hard at school and the cabinet shop. He is really looking forward to graduation in May. He is doing well in his classes this semester and learning lots of new things at work. Last week he was able to work on a window that went in the St. Louis temple.
