Sterling and Amanda's wedding

 On August 1st, Sterling and Amanda were married at Highland Gardens in Alpine. They had a nice ceremony and it was fun to celebrate this exciting day! I can't wait for the day if and when they get sealed in the temple...it will mean so much more for them.

One month or less...

The past few weeks have been super busy with Sterling and Amanda's wedding on August 1st and many family birthday parties. Pictures to come soon!

I started visiting the Dr. weekly now and as of yesterday was 35 weeks and 50% effaced and in head down position. I have been having contractions for almost 2 weeks and was told to decrease my activity and take medication to stop the contractions so the baby can continue to grow. I am having such a hard time taking it easy...the entire time I am sitting and resting I just think of all the things that need to get done. Yesterday the doctor told us that he would be happy if I can just make it another week! After hearing that it finally hit me that "Wow! This is for real! We will soon be a family of 3." I feel like there is so much more to do to prepare for this little girl...including my 3 baby showers in the next week. I am so excited but nervous at the same time for the unknown. I can't wait to see how cute this sweet little girl will be...it has been so much fun to see her little feet push out on my stomach (even though sometimes it hurts).

4th of July and summer happenings

On June 23rd, I had my first baby shower from the Bath family. It was at Marrianne's home and turned out great. There was homemade cakes, cupcakes, suckers, and salads! I got lots of goodies for our little girl that I can't wait to use.

 I think this picture was around 30 weeks. I still just feel fat not pregnant although it is getting more difficult to tie my shoes, shave my legs, walk long distances without my feet swelling until they are unrecognizable. She has been moving more and more every day and as of week 32 I was able to feel her hiccup. Her favorite spot is to wedge her little feet into my right ribs...ouch!

We also attended the West Jordan Demolition Derby.

 On the fourth of July, I unfortunatly had to work in the morning but later that night we did our annual tradition of riding the fire truck in the Sandy City Parade with my dad. This year we couldn't all fit into the model A and the city officials wouldn't let us throw candy so we rode in the fire truck instead! I have never ridden in the front seat of the truck until this day...and I have to say it was fun! The crowd was loving the fire trucks because recently we were hit with at least 9 fires in Utah (with Herriman going up in flames again) and people were so greatful for the firemen. I am proud to have a Hero as my dad! He is such a talented and amazing man!

In project news, since this spring we have been working on improving our yard. Our backyard has beautiful trees lining the yard, but in between the trees was little grey gravel that was ugly so Jeff and I decided to take out the rock and replace it with compost. Little did I know how big of a project this turned out to be! After at least 5 loads of rock to the dump and 6 loads of compost it looks much better! I was hoping to plant some pretty bushes and flowers this year, but as I have gotten more pregnant and had less energy, I decided this will be for next year. We did however, get some apricot trees and raspberrys planted.

 Project number 2: New deck
     Jeff rebuilt our porch deck since it was rotting and the bottom stair had a huge hole in it. He had to rebuild it from the ground up since it was so bad. It looks great now!

    Here you can kinda see the "before" pic of the flower beds in the front of the house. They are filled with a mix of bark and lava rock and look awful! So we decided to cover it up with some prettier rock to make it look more complete.

We have been working so hard to complete all these big projects before the baby comes so we can enjoy spending time with her and catching up on sleep.

Happy 26th Birthday!

Luckily this year my birthday was on Saturday so we started celebrating by going to breakfast at Kneaders with family. I drive past that place everyday and see their sign for "all you can eat french toast", which is one of my favorites, so of course I had to try it and it was delicious! I then went shopping with my mom for nursery decor and went to dinner with Jeff and ended the night watching fireworks in South Jordan. 

Finally I have a baby bump picture. This one was at 27 1/2 weeks. I still dont feel too big compared to other pregant ladies I know. I am measuring exactly where I should be and it seems like overnight I went from one lovely stretch mark to like 10! Boo!!! I keep telling myself that all the sickness, swelling, crazy appetite or lack of, and inability to reach my legs/feet is all worth knowing we will soon have a sweet little miracle girl in our arms. She has been kicking like crazy lately....I love coming home from work and putting my feet up and feeling her go to town. Her recent favorite spot to kick me is right under my right ribs.

My wonderful grandma painted this tree in the nursery and we love it. The nursery is slowly coming together and once it's finished I will take some better pictures.

 My grandpa P also made this quilt for the baby. It is so soft and I am thankful for the talent she has to make this for our baby.

 This wall is still in progress...I bought picture frames but still need to fill and hang them.

 I got 2 birthday cakes this year, an ice cream cake and chocolate mousse cake.

26 weeks along

I still have not taken any pictures of my baby bump....I keep waiting for a day when I have enough energy to look decent....guess that time will never come!

I am now 26 weeks/6 months along and finally am feeling somewhat normal besides the heartburn and discomfort from a growing belly. Our little girl is starting to become much more active and randomly kicks throughout the day and night. She especially loved the Chris Cagle concert we went to and wouldn't stop kicking during it. Jeff was finally able to feel her kick a few weeks ago which was exciting for him. He is so excited for this little girl to join our family that he has gone online and bought a few hurley brand onesies and matching sweat outfit that is to die for.

As far as the nursery goes, it is slowly coming along. We have purchased/refinished all the furniture and Grandma P has started her wall-art which I am so excited for. We have also bought a swing, car seat and stroller as well as a few odds and ends.

In other house news, we have just about completed the backyard project. The old owners had white pea-gravel in between the trees which looked terrible and so we have been taking it out by the truck loads and replacing it with compost which will eventually have bushes and flowers as well as some fruit trees. Memorial weekend and the start of summer fun

The pictures are a little out of order because I am still trying to figure out the new blogger. Anyway, we were excited to start off the summer going to Hatch over memorial weekend and enjoying one last vacation before our little girl arrives.

The first weekend in June we attended Eagle Mountain's Pony express days and were able to see Chris Cagle in concert and watch fireworks. I have always loved Chris Cagle and he put on a great show!

Jeff and I decided we love summer time for times like these: warm summer nights watching fireworks, rodeos, town days, and watching demolition derbys. We have our calanders ready for more fun days to come this summer.

I decided to take some pictures of the Hatch property so I could look back and remember what it was like growing up.

This trip was fun even though I couldn't do much 4-wheeling due to being pregnant and uncomfortable and mom who just had her bunion sx couldn't do much walking, so we spent a lot of time just sitting and relaxing which was needed.

Hawaii Day 4-6

Day 4-6 in Hawaii consisted of Dole Pinapple plantation tour and yummy ice cream, a trip to North Shore and of course Motsumoto shaved ice.

 We stopped by a beach where it is common for sea turtles to come up to the beach as well as eat the algea on the rocks in the water.

 We got upgraded to have a dodge charger to rent....Jeff was in heaven.

On the way home, we had to connect our flight in Oahu to Kona on the Big Island and what an adventure did that become!! We landed on Kona (basically a volcano) and after waiting on the plane for 3 hours on the tarmac, the pilot announced the plane needed to be repaired and the part needed to be flown over from Honolulu (one hour flight) and therefore we were stuck at the Kona airport outside with all the stores closed and in the heat for 5 hours. Unfortunatly we missed our connection flight from San Francisco to SLC and had to sleep at the airport until the next day. We didn't want to leave Hawaii, but were happy to finally be home in SL after that adventure.
