On July 31st I started a new chemotherapy medication. Dr. Werner wants me to try this new Injection called Faslodex which will replace the Letrozole I have been taking for years. This will hopefully keep the cancer from growing sine the Letrzole and Palbo combination wasn't working as well anymore.
I go into the South Jordan Huntsman every 2 weeks for the first month and then will just have them once a month. The injections are super thick and give the nurses a workout pushing them into my hips. I have to get 1 in each hip. So far the only side effects I have noticed are a nasty chemical smell when I pee for about the first 2 weeks that starts pretty immediatly after the shot and get immediate bloating. I have noticed that a few days after the injections I am very fatigued and have soreness in my hips.
Since having 3 rounds of injections, I have gained about 10 lbs despite eating clean and exercising. This is very frustrating since being bloated and swollen everywhere is miserable, especially when I am tierd but still try to be as active as possible. I continue to struggle with hot flashes but find they are worse in the mornings around 8-10 AM and caffinne triggers them more.
My hair is still growing and had it cut recently for a little change. As much as I would like to grow it long again, it is so hard getting it past a certain point and with hot flashes the long hair is awful.
