Halloween and Dad's Birthday

This year for Halloween, we hosted a little family party at our house with my family and the grandparents. We had our traditional chili, breadsticks, pumpkin shaped pizza, and pumpkin cookies and pumkin pie.

Jeff dressed up as a cowboy and I was a witch.
The pictures of our pumpkins didn't turn out too well, but Jeff's was a wolf and mine a spider.

My dad had free tickets to the Real Soccer playoffs. The soccer games are so fun and people get so into them here in Utah...I never would have guessed it would be this popular.

Dad's Birthday was the 29th and he got his favorite "Chocolate Dunford Donut" Birthday Cake.

Anniversary weekend fun

Happy 4th Anniversary to Us!!!

On October 11th we celebrated being married for 4 years. Since our actual anniversary date was in the middle of the work week, we decided to have a weekend celebration. We started off going to dinner at PF Changs in SLC and woke up the next morning and went to the X-96 BASH concert. Sunday we continued the fun with 4-wheeling after church. (Our anniversary gift to eachother this year was a 4-wheeler). Tuesday night Jeff brought us dinner(a heart shaped pizza).
We spent Sunday afternoon enjoying a 4-wheeler ride with my family at our annual tradition at Tibble Fork. The changing leaves were beautiful and we even ran into some snow.

Concerts galore...and more to come!

For Labor day this year, we went with my family to Park City for a picnic and made a detour to walk around the old Park City cemetary....it was creepy and like something you would see in a movie with huge headstones and most of them were from the pioneers era.

Ster and Amanda who have gotten into going "ghost-hunting" in cemetarys.

Also for Labor Day weekend, Jeff and I decided to take a drive up to Snowbird for Oktoberfest to have a brat and german chocolate cake.

Here are the tickets from all of the concerts we have gone to the past month...and the best part is....we have only had to pay for the Rascal Flatts concert....and we got free tickets to the Big A show in Oct.

We saw Blink 182 as part of their reunion tour this year. I was actually impressed they put on a great show.

Rancid opened up for Blink. I was more excited to see them than anyone!

For my birthday, Jeff got me Rascal Flatts concert tickets since I have always wanted to go. They were very entertaining and had a really neat stage set-up. Sara Evans opened for them.

Dew Tour in SLC

Last year we had so much fun at the Dew Tour that we decided we would go again, but we agreed that if we went we would pay for the upgraded seats to avoid standing in line all day. Much to our luck (well, Jeff's luck) we scored some free tickets to the Dew Tour and Blink 182 concert for free from X-96.

BMX:

Below is Bill Allred from the morning radio show on X-96 and where we scored free tickets!

While at the Dew Tour, we got to get autographs and meet some of the pro skaters I grew up watching everyday after school! Below is Bucky Lasek

Bucky and Bob Burnquist both killed it on the Vert ramp...pictures don't do this huge ramp justice.

This pic is dark, but it's of Shaun White who is also a pro snowboarder.

Adventures at Lake Powell 2011

We just got home from another Lake Powell adventure full of memories. We haven't been to Lake Powell for our annual visit so we were really looking forward to going this year. My parent's next door neighboors rented a houseboat and invited us to go as well. The pictures are a little out of order, but oh well.

We started out the trip by towing the wave runners so my dad could tow his boat. The first night we got to Bullfrog around 11pm so we slept in the bed of our truck in the parking lot until morning when we could load the houseboat. Once the houseboat was loaded and after waiting 5 hours in the heat, we headed out in search of a beach to park the houseboat on. By the time the houseboat met up with the rest of us at our spot, the sun was quickly setting. Well that night a bunch of raccoon-like animals decided to take over the boat and raid everything, so the next morning we moved the houseboat to another spot, but this time we ended up tying off the boat in between the entrance to a small canyon(which was not a smart idea with the Lake Powell winds).

This lead to our next night's adventure when the wind quickly picked up just as the sun was setting and all of a sudden the houseboat lost anchor and began heading quickly into a rocky shore with boats attached around the houseboat. Everyone quickly dropped everything and tried to protect the boats from getting thrashed around in the wind. Luckily, there wasn't much damage. Later the next day we ended up spending about 3 hours at the poop pump out station(not to mention it was the middle of the day and so hot, but no one wanted to jump in the surrounding water to cool down). Nobody on the houseboat could find the attachment piece to pump properly until hours later and then the men had to manually pump it out.

We had a fun few days and enjoyed seeing the sun and spending time with friends and family.
Shannon finally got up on a wakeboard!!!Yay Shannie!
