Aubrie's First time to California

The first week of November, we went with my family to California to celebrate my dads birthday. Aubrie had a long lists of firsts including: first time on an airplane (which she did excellent with), first time to California, Disneyland, Universal studios, and the beach. The weather was so nice...90 degrees while it was snowing in Utah.
It's hard to see, but she got a "1st visit" pin to Disneyland. Ya, people probably thought we were crazy for taking a 2 month old to Disneyland but we figured, why not start her young right, plus this is one of my favorite places on earth. She ended up sleeping most of the time but she did get to ride a few rides including: Pirates of the Caribbean, Haunted Mansion, and the jungle cruise. The stroller pass came in handy so we didn't have to wait too long to re-ride rides that she couldnt go on. Also the day we were at Disneyland the Backstreet boys were performing for Disney's Christmas Day Special ( I was kinda upset that I didnt get to see them since we were there, but I did spot Kevin in the Park).
We got to see the new "Cars Land" which was really cute and had a fun race car ride.
Jeff had to get his giant turkey leg.
We stayed at Newport Beach vacation club and went to Crystal Cove state park to visit the tide pools.

The next day we went to Universal studios and enjoyed the shows, new rides, and the tram ride to see the movie sets. Aubrie slept through most of it.

 Fast and Furious set.
Transformers the Ride was the hot ride this year and there were the guys walking around the park.
 Jurassic Park

 Newport beach.
Our cute girl as we got off the airplane...she was happy to be home.

Baby Blessing

On Sunday October 28th 2012, Aubrie was given a name and a blessing by her father. We had her blessing at our home in order to accomodate everyone's crazy schedules and had 40 people present. Those in attendence included: Mom, Dad, Grandpa and Grandma Matt and Susie, Sterling and Amanda, Shannon, Great Grandma Joan Evans, Great grandma Carolyn Pearson, Great grandpa Joe Pearson, Mark and Melony Evans and their kids Brittany and Chelsea's families, Dave and Cherlynn Pearson and kids Sunnie, Jimmy, and Jakie, Grandma and Grandpa Bath, David and Dallin and Braden Bath, Maryanne and Mike Heath and kids Miranda, Gavin, and Daxton, Great Grandma Arlene Crump and husband Joe Rowberry.

She was given a wonderful blessing by her father Jeff.
Below are pictures of those who came:

We also celebrated my dad's 49th birthday.

Jeff's family: Great grandma Arlene Crump(80 years old), Grandma Karen Bath, Aubrie, and Dad.
4 generations of girls: Grandma Susie Evans, Mom, Aubrie, and Great grandma Carolyn Pearson.
I thought these pictures were adorable of Aubrie and Great Grandma P. looking at eachother. (1st great-grandchild)

Happy Halloween....Aubrie is 2 months old!

On October 21st, Aubrie attended her first day of church. We decided to attempt just sacrament meeting and luckily she slept through the entire thing. Both Jeff and I have so much fun dressing her up in her church clothes.
This year we made little spider magnets for our front door decoration.
This year for Halloween we decided to stay home and pass out candy. The weather was so nice and in the 70s which is rare for Utah. Prior to passing out candy, we stopped by my parents house for some traditional "Halloween night chili" with grandma and grandpa Pearson. Aubrie was dressed up as a little cow on her first Halloween.
She also was given this little pumpkin pj set that she wore many times.
I had to take a picture of Aubrie in her bassinet before she out-grew it (which is not too much longer). I can remember when she was so tiny and seemed lost in the bassinet and couldn't even touch the sides. This bassinet has a neat history as it was given to my parents by my grandpa Pearson when I was born. My grandpa got it from 29 palms when he was working out in California. It is made of willow and has been the bed of many babies in our family including: me, Sterling, Shannon, Sunnie, Jimmy, and Jakie and now little Aubrie.
We attempted a 2 month of photo shoot but she was very unhappy that I was making her pose when she was hungry, but after she was fed we attempted again with a little more success.

Aubrie's 2 month old doctor's appointment went well despite having to get lots of shots. The doctor said she is very strong and growing up healthy.
Her 2 month old stats:
-Weight: 12.75 lbs    87% (yes, she is a chunk and loves to eat)
 -Height: 22.5 inches  69%

Some of her accomplishments so far include:
*She smiles at us and has the cutest grins especially in the morning
*She has better head control and prefers to be sitting or standing to see the world
*She loves laying on her back and looking up at her mobiles and toys
*She is starting to sleep better and only wakes up around 2-3 AM and again at 5 to eat
*She loves her bath times and sticks her legs and hands in the water to play and gets mad when its time to get out
*She loves having her hair combed/brushed and is so content when I do it.
*She still has dark curly hair but I can see light blonde roots underneath.

Fall is in the air

This past week we made our annual trip to Peterson farms to find our halloween pumpkins out in the huge patch of every color and variety of pumpkins. Of course we had to take a few pictures of Aubrie's first trip to get her pumpkin (pics of her pumpkin to come later).
So tiny in a big pile of cinderella pumpkins.

We also took a drive up to Silver Lake between general conference sessions on Sunday. It was chilly up there but the leaves were beautiful.

Our 5th anniversary fell on 10-11-12 this year which was a thursday so we kept it low key and Jeff got our traditional Papa Murphy's jack-o-lantern pizza (they refused to make the heart shaped one..lame) and bubbly. This year we were happy to have little Aubrie join us!

Saturday we attended Thriller oddessy dance performance which was really fun and then went to dinner at PF Changs. This was our first time out without Aubrie who was staying with grandma Susie. It was nice to get out without having all the baby gear.
Aubrie is getting so big....I can't believe how much she is changing daily. She is almost too big for the bassinet in our room and is now wearing 3 month old clothing at 6 weeks old and is officially out of newborn diapers. Her hair is growing like crazy as well and is hard to control since it is so long but I was finally able to get it into a ponytail on the top of her head a week ago!
Other accomplishments and memories:
-She started to smile at us, especially in the morning during diaper changes and when she is full from eating. I have even heard her laugh a little bit once.
- We set up her floor mat which she loves to stare at, coo, and kick her legs when she gets really excited. Her favorite toy on it is the dragon fly...she is mezmorized by it.
-I have been putting her in her crib once in a while and she loves the butterfly mobile and the flower tree on the wall and will just look up at it and be so content and happy.
- She is slowly starting to get into a better schedule on her own and will sleep from 10-2 am most nights and then gets up at 4 and 6 am. It is so nice to actually get an hour or two of sleep in a row!
She is getting use to tummy time but doesnt like it for more than 5 minutes. She is able to lift her head from the floor but still has a hard time holding it up for long.
